Rapidox 2100 OEM-SIL2
The Rapidox 2100 OEM-SIL2 is a high-performance zirconia oxygen (O2) analyser, designed to meet the SIL2 requirements of IEC 61508/61511 under high demand use for safety integrity, as part of a Safety Instrumented System (SIS). The analyser design uses two microprocessors that continuously monitor the state of operation, quality of readings and the integrity of the digital & analogue outputs and the alarm relays. The likelihood of a fault being undetected is reduced by several orders of magnitude compared with a non-SIL2 equivalent product.
Zirconia oxygen sensors are extremely rugged and particularly suitable for monitoring inert atmospheres and aggressive industrial applications directly within manufacturing processes such as additive manufacturing (3D printers), soldering ovens and furnaces. High temperature (650°C) and vacuum applications are particularly suited to this model. The SIL2 version is particularly suited to applications where there is an additional risk of human suffocation, and the sensor needs to be relied upon to warn correctly of the presence of a suffocating atmosphere. The SIL2 design shrinks the failure window where a dormant fault condition could exist from days or weeks to just a few minutes.
The Rapidox 2100 OEM-SIL2 analyser is supplied in a custom DIN rail enclosure with or without local display and keypad (these are for programming and not in the scope of SIL2). The sensor cable can be made to any length up to 25m and there are a choice of sensor mounting options including aluminium and stainless manifolds as well as vacuum fittings (ISO-KF and CF). It has fully programmable analogue (voltage and current) outputs and alarm relays as well as RS232 / RS485 digital signalling as standard. In addition to the standard Rapidox digital communications protocol and software, Modbus-RTU is included as standard. The analyser is designed specifically for seamless integration to PLC systems.

Rapidox 7100 Multigas Analyser
The Rapidox 7100 Multigas Analyser is a high specification instrument designed for the analysis, control and monitoring of process gas in a wide range of industries. It allows the option of selecting multiple gas sensing configurations to suit the particular application. The analyser is housed within a 19″ (482mm) enclosure for convenient mounting into an industry-standard test equipment rack.
Up to seven gases are simultaneously measured using a range of high precision gas sensors; each sensor is specially designed and calibrated to avoid any cross-interference effects with the background process gas. Safety is ensured by the inclusion of flashback arrestors in the gas measuring circuit where required. Measurable gases include amongst others: CO2, CO, H2O, O2, C2H4, SO2, CH4, H2 and H2S.
When configured for applications where the gases are energy-containing (e.g. Biogas, Syngas) the calorific value of the gas sample is determined using thermodynamic calculations and simultaneously logged and displayed on-screen.
An optional pump enables two modes of operations. For samples that are taken from a gas source at atmospheric pressure or below, the pump is activated to draw a sample through the analyser. Rapidox 5100 Purge Gas Analyser
The Rapidox 5100 hydrogen(H2) purge gas monitor is a high specification portable battery powered instrument designed for the analysis of hydrogen cooling gas in turbogenerators and alternators.
Modern power stations use hydrogen turbogenerators which produce vast amounts of heat that is controlled using hydrogen as a cooling gas. The hydrogen has a low viscosity to reduce friction on the spinning turbine blades as well as having a cooling capacity many times greater than using air.
It is essential that the hydrogen remains pure and uncontaminated with air at all times, both in operation and during maintenance. Any leakage with air could produce a potentially explosive gas mixture. Therefore regular testing of the cooling gas for hydrogen purity as well as air ingress is required.
During maintenance when the hydrogen needs to be removed for access, an intermediary gas is used to remove the chance of any explosive mixtures being generated. First, the light hydrogen is purged using heavy carbon dioxide (CO2) and secondly the CO2 is purged using fresh air. The re-filling process follows the same sequence in reverse. The Rapidox measures all stages of this purge cycle showing analysis of Air (O2 + N2) + CO2 + H2.
The gases are simultaneously measured using a range of high precision gas sensors; each sensor is specially designed and calibrated to avoid cross interference effects with background process gas, Safety is ensured by the inclusion of flashback arrestors in the gas measuring circuit.

The Rapidox 5100 Syngas Analyser is a high specification and mobile instrument designed for the on-site analysis and calculation of calorific value for syngas produced from the gasification of waste material at high temperature in an environment low in oxygen.
The Rapidox 5100 Syngas Analyser can be used for the analysis of syngas at appropriate installations (after appropriate sample conditioning / clean up) from the pipework leading to a CHP engine for either:
Biomass fuels – such as wood chips and digestate – via gasification, or,
Non-biomass fuels – such as tyre crumbs, plastics, metal coated plastics, and foams – via cracking.

The Rapidox 5100 Biogas Analyser is a high specification and mobile instrument designed for the analysis and calculation of calorific value for biogas produced from the anaerobic digestion of organic materials.
The Rapidox 5100 Biogas Analyser can be used at a fertilisation plant, landfill site, farm, sewage plant or laboratory to measure and print-out the results for both gas content (CH4 / H2S / O2 / CO2) and energy content (calorific value, CV) for biogas produced in a digester from biomass; this obviates the need to collect separate samples in Tedlar bags and sending then to a laboratory for third-party analysis in order to determine the calorific value of the biogas, as all results are obtained on site. Measurable gases include oxygen (O2), carbon dioxide (CO2), carbon monoxide (CO), hydrogen (H2), moisture (H2O), ethylene (C2H2), chlorine (Cl2), methane (CH2), nitrous oxide (N2O), nitric oxide (NO), ammonia (NH2), sulfur dioxide (SO2) and ozone (O2) to suit the application.
The flow of test gas can be adjusted with the flow gauge/needle valve on the front panel. An optional powerful long-life pump draws a gas sample at a flow rate set by the user between 0-1 litres per minute. Alternatively, the pump can be independently switched off and the unit operated under flowing gas conditions.
Standard features on all models include four fully programmable alarm circuits (volt free contacts), programmable analogue outputs (0-10V and 4-20mA) for each sensor, easy calibration (user selectable gases), RS232 / RS485 / ModBus-RTU communications and complete data logging software. Rapidox 2100-FGA Forming Gas Analyser
The Rapidox 2100-FGA Forming Gas Analyser is a special variant of an existing zirconia oxygen analyser which allows fast and accurate oxygen analysis over the full oxygen range to extremely low levels commonly found in hydrogen forming gas.
The sensor measurement range is extended down to 10E-30ppm O2 to cover the ultra-low oxygen partial pressures in forming gas mixtures. The sensor is designed for high-temperature operation which can be extended up to 1000°C when using one of the available insertion sample tubes.
The Rapidox provides continuous on-line oxygen analysis, with a typical response time of fewer than 4 seconds for a 90% response to a step-change in gas compositions. In addition to this, the analyser performs complex thermodynamic equations to calculate the H2O dewpoint of the forming gas. These calculations have been verified by a resident thermodynamics expert at Cambridge University. The operator simply dials in the hydrogen content of the forming gas and the analyser does the rest. The dewpoint is then displayed simultaneously on-screen in either °Cdp or ppmV.
The temperature is determined either from the sensor head (up to 660°C) or above this, the temperature is recorded using the type K thermocouple which is fitted as standard.
The analyser is packed with features including programmable alarm circuits, programmable analogue outputs, easy calibration (user selectable gases), RS232 & Modbus communications and complete communications / data-logging software. Additional sensors may be attached via the auxiliary socket which will read most standard 4-20mA transmitters. Currently, the Rapidox 2100-FGA can be configured to read pressure or vacuum. A vast array of special fittings, filters and manifolds are available for both oxygen and auxiliary sensors, to make this a completely versatile instrument that can be installed almost anywhere. Depending on the application, the sensors can be located up to 25 meters from the analyser using optional sensor extension cables.
The instrument can be panel mounted (19″) or supplied within a wall-mountable, IP65 weatherproof housing. The oxygen sensor can then be positioned remotely, in either a separate cabinet or as a standalone sensor. A printer option is also available. All Rapidox analysers come with full Windows software that allows for remote configuration and monitoring of readings, as well as a full data-logging package that includes live-time graphing of each sensor channel.

Rapidox 2100 Oxygen Analyser
The Rapidox 2100 is a high-performance oxygen (O2) analyser fitted with a rugged long-life zirconia sensor on a remote cable, together with a type K thermocouple sensor; allowing direct in-process measurement of oxygen and temperature in the sample gas. The sensors provide fast and accurate analysis over the low ppm oxygen range in harsh environments up to 650°C.
Zirconia oxygen sensors are particularly suitable for monitoring inert atmospheres in aggressive industrial applications within manufacturing processes; this includes high-temperature locations and vacuum atmospheres.
In rare instances where zirconia sensors are unsuitable, an electrochemical sensor will be used instead. Electrochemical oxygen sensors are ideal for monitoring high oxygen applications, or where VOC’s, flammable gases, CO, H2 or He are present in the gas sample. Users have a choice between a sensor for low ppm measurements of 1ppm to 1%, or for high percent measurements in the 0-100% oxygen range.
Depending on the specification of the analyser, the sensor is normally housed in a remote metal manifold that allows gas to flow through and over the sensor surface, or provide a vacuum-tight coupling to the sample point in a vacuum application. The exact design of the manifold housing depends on the application and can be situated up to 25 meters from the analyser using optional sensor extension cables. As well as a type K thermocouple sensor which is fitted as standard, a range of optional auxiliary pressure, vacuum and dewpoint sensors are available allowing multiple measurements in one instrument.
The configuration of the analyser allows for the instrument to be panel mounted or supplied within a wall-mountable, IP65 weatherproof housing. The oxygen sensor can then be positioned remotely, up to 25 metres away in either a separate cabinet or as a standalone sensor. A printer can be attached to the instrument using the serial port for permanent record keeping of results. The Rapidox 1100-OPT-MAX uses two cutting-edge optical gas sensors working in tandem to deliver the world’s first truly full-scale optical oxygen gas analyser.
This compact instrument can measure oxygen levels from as low as 0.1 ppm up to 100%, offering exceptional performance in speed, accuracy, stability and sensor longevity.
The Rapidox 1100-OPT-MAX is ideal for challenging applications such as measuring ppm levels of oxygen in hydrogen, helium and flammable gases, as well as high levels of oxygen in concentrators, incubators and glove boxes.
The high and low range oxygen sensors switch over automatically using a hysteresis function to optimise readings, with the switching point adjustable by the user.
Optical oxygen sensors are virtually drift free and factory calibrated for life, meaning the lifetime cost of ownership is more economical compared with other sensor types.
These sensors are ideal for demanding high oxygen applications where VOCs, flammable gases, CO, H₂ or He are present in the gas sample.
The optical oxygen sensor technology is based on luminescence quenching of a sensor dye. The dye is excited with red light, and the properties of the resulting luminescence are measured in the near infrared.
The presence of molecular oxygen in the gas quenches the luminescence, changing its intensity and producing a calibrated oxygen measurement.
This principle is very robust, shows virtually no interference from other gases and has a very low drift.
It does not deplete over time, unlike galvanic oxygen sensors with their limited shelf life, as the optics and electronics are hermetically sealed from the measured gas.
For typical indoor environmental conditions, a 5–10 year operating life is expected.

Rapidox 1100 Methane Analyser
The Rapidox 1100-M methane (CH4) gas analyser is the company’s most cost-effective and versatile range of CH4 gas analysers fitted with an infra-red gas sensor or a tuneable laser diode sensor depending on the application.
The infra-red (IR) sensor is the most common and preferred solution for methane (natural gas) measurement providing fast and accurate gas analysis over the range 0-1% to 0-100% CH4 and is particularly suitable for aggressive industrial applications as the sample gas is filtered for dust and particles and is non-condensing. IR sensors are highly suitable for measuring gases that absorb infra-red light such as CO2, CO & CH4 particularly in percent levels of concentration. Different sensor lengths are available to allow different ranges of the gas to be detected hence the importance of selecting the correct range for your application.
Please note that methane IR sensors are sensitive to the presence of all hydrocarbons including ethane, butane, pentane & propane and will give reading based on the total hydrocarbon content rather than the natural gas content. For applications such as Syngas measurement where there are other hydrocarbons present a tuneable laser diode sensor (TLD) is a more suitable sensor choice. This sensor responds only to methane (natural gas) and is available in 0-100% scale CH4.

TCD sensors (also known as Katharometers) are highly suitable for measuring gases that have a thermal conductivity value significantly different to air, as long as the gas mixture is simple. Examples include H2 in mixtures of nitrogen (N2) or carbon dioxide (CO2). The sensor can be factory calibrated for a specific gas mixture such as hydrogen in argon for example.

This is the main choice of sensor for ppm O2 measurements, giving years of reliable accurate measurements. For applications where zirconia can’t be used easily (e.g. flammable gases, hydrogen or gases with high levels of VOCs), users have a choice of two electrochemical oxygen sensors: one for low ppm measurements of 0.1ppm up to 1% and another for high percent measurements in the 0.1% to 100% oxygen range. Electrochemical sensors are ideal for measuring high percent levels of oxygen or ppm levels where VOC’s, flammable gases, CO, H2 or He are present in the gas sample. A special “oxygen clean” version of the high range analyser is also available for applications where oxygen is >30%.
An alternative to electrochemical sensors is an optical sensor which is suitable for oxygen measurements in the 0.01% to 100% range. Optical sensors are more expensive than electrochemical sensors but have exceptionally low drift and last up to ten years making their cost of ownership more economical in the long run. This oxygen analyser is the preferred choice where regular recalibration is difficult due to the installation / application.
For applications requiring the full measurement range from 0.1ppm to 100% O2 in a gas not compatible with a zirconia sensor, a dual-sensor Rapidox 1100 is available; comprising both an optical sensor for high readings and an electrochemical sensor for ppm O2 readings. The gas flowing over the sensors is controlled automatically using solenoid valves, allowing a seamless transition of measurement from low ppm to high percent in a single analyser.
Special variations of the R1100 model include:
1) A three-channel multiplex version (ZR3), which allows for three gas streams to be sampled from separate locations. Gases can be analysed in sequence or at intervals set from the controls (front keypad or software). This model is particularly suitable for large solder re-flow ovens where multiple sample points are needed across the length of the oven chamber.
2) A closed loop version (PFC) which supplies a 4-20mA PID control signal to a proportional flow control valve, allowing precise control of the oxygen levels in an oven or chamber based on the Rapidox gas reading.
3) A single solenoid relay version (RSO) using a remote 24V voltage output. This is a more basic and cost-effective way of controlling the oxygen levels by opening and closing a nitrogen feed using an electric solenoid based on the Rapidox gas reading.
4) A dual-sensor version (OPT-L) comprising a pair of O2 sensors in a single analyser, one for low ppm readings and one for high percent readings, controlled by solenoid valves for a seamless & continuous measurement through the full range of 0.1ppm to 100% O2

DK Holdings Resin Bond Diamond Tooling
DK Holdings’ Resin Bond Diamond and CBN tooling has been developed over decades to provide consistent, accurate and stable grinding performance across a wide range of engineering materials. Manufactured in our ISO-certified facilities in Kent, each wheel is produced using controlled bond formulations and carefully selected abrasive grades to achieve predictable behaviour in both low- and high-volume production environments.
Resin bond tooling offers notable versatility. By adjusting bond hardness and grit size, wheels can be engineered either for extended wear resistance or for faster material removal where cutting efficiency is the priority. This tunability allows the tooling to be matched precisely to the material being ground, as well as the required surface finish and machine parameters.
Our capability covers standard and bespoke geometries, including flaring cup wheels, profile wheels and flat grinding wheels ranging from 3 mm to 600 mm in diameter. Diamond wheels are typically used for tungsten carbide, ceramics and glass, while CBN variants support hardened steels, high-speed steel (HSS), superalloys, hard cast irons and stellite. Each tool is inspected to ensure dimensional accuracy, form stability and consistent grinding characteristics throughout its life.
Resin bond tooling remains a core technology in aerospace, automotive, medical and precision engineering, where controlled performance and repeatability are essential.
DK Holdings Flexible Diamond Range = Electroflex, Electroplus and CBN Flex
DK’s flexible material range has been developed by our engineers to combine the long life and aggressive cutting and polishing action of diamonds (and CBN) with a backing material that offers both strength and flexibility. This enables tools in various shapes to quickly and economically grind and polish a wide range of hard materials such as natural and synthetic stones, glass, ceramics and hard metals.
Electroflex uses selected high-quality diamonds electroplated with a nickel matrix onto either a special flexible stainless steel mesh or a very strong flexible backing cloth (dot-pattern). The result is a robust, fast-grinding and finishing product.
Electroplus is an alternative criss-cross pattern to Electroflex and works particularly well as discs and belts for rapid stock removal applications.
CBN Flex has been developed as a long-lasting solution for wet grinding, polishing or finishing ferrous metals including iron-base alloys, titanium alloys, stainless steels, high-temperature alloys as well as thermal spray coatings, and can be manufactured to suit a variety of machines.
