Jon has completed a MEng and PhD in Electronic Engineering. His doctoral research focused on automated identification of urban and natural audio signals, testing a novel time-domain feature extraction method, alongside researching ensemble neural network classifiers.
Jon has been at the AMRC since 2013, starting in the machining group as part of the process monitoring and control team. He is now the senior theme lead for data, connectivity and AI in the integrated manufacturing group, as well as theme co-lead in AI for engineering and manufacturing at the Centre for Machine Intelligence. He has also previously lectured at the AMRC Training Centre. Jon also organises and hosts webinars for the IET Manufacturing Technical Network.
