With the Hygienic Usit^® screw and seal system from Freudenberg Sealing Technologies, norelem offers a hygienic solution for hygiene-sensitive applications. The combination of specially developed seal and shim washers and stainless steel components fulfils the most stringent requirements for purity and safety.

Stringent safety standards are absolutely essential in the food industry and similar hygiene-sensitive sectors – and also apply to screw connections in machines and systems. The requirement here is to prevent buildups, corrosion and germs.

With the new Hygienic Usit^® system and supplementary stainless-steel components, norelem offers a complete screw and seal system that was specially developed for hygiene-sensitive applications. It combines reliable sealing, easy cleaning, and an uncompromising hygienic design, thus setting new standards for safe screw connections in the food industry and other hygiene-sensitive sectors.

The basis: EHEDG-compliant seal and shim washers

The Hygienic Usit ^® seal and shim washers form the basis of the product line. A metal washer combined with a bonded EPDM or Fluoroprene ^® ring gasket ensures a reliable seal, with no dead space. The sealing properties remain constant even after repeated tightening and loosening.

A particular advantage: The seal is designed for easy cleaning, without having to loosen the screw connections. This is ideal for high-temperature steam sterilization applications, demanding cleaning processes, or fatty process media.

Extensive hygienic design assortment
In addition to Hygienic Usit® seal and shim washers, norelem offers an extensive assortment of stainless-steel components that meet hygienic design requirements and can be combined with the washers:

• Hexagon screws and cap nuts (also available as a set with seal and shim washers)
• T-handles with outer or inner threads
• Indexing plungers with a hygienic taper seat
• Wing screws and wing nuts
• Mushroom knobs and clamping levers with outer or inner threads

The ergonomic T-handles, for example, enable safe handling and feature smooth surfaces for very easy cleaning. The indexing plungers are designed to prevent dirt buildup and to facilitate cleaning processes.

In addition, norelem offers suitable pliers wrenches with protective jaws for professional screw connections. The protective jaws, which prevent damage to screw heads, are available separately.
