July 3rd, Firetrace were notified of a discharged system at an established manufacturing business based in Bristol.
WHY FIRETRACE WERE CONTACTED
Firetrace Ltd were contacted once a few members of staff had witnessed and reported an unusual site within their working area. With further investigation, it was in fact the Automatic Fire Suppression system discharging CO2 and machine shutdown because of a component in the machine had set alight. Installed late 2017 as a precaution, the 24/7 operating manufacturing company were very pleased the Firetrace System accurately deployed and extinguished with minimal damage to the machine.
THE SOLUTION AND OUTCOME
Knowing how important the machine operation to the business was, a Firetrace engineer was able to attend the next working day and confirmed there had been a fire which had been successfully suppressed. A CCTV camera also captured the incident.
As a result of the Automatic Fire Suppression System activating, the emergency services were not required. The Firetrace pressure switch interrupted the work programme and stopped the machine to prevent reignition of the fire. Additionally, the downtime of the manufacturing facility was minimal as the 5kg CO2 automatic fire suppression system extinguished the fire efficiently causing no damage to the interior.
A great success for Firetrace, and one very happy customer!
